Crews with the city's Department of Transportation (DOT) installed new concrete barriers and other safety measures today along the Bronx River Parkway. The changes come nearly two weeks after a minivan flipped over the guardrail, killing seven people. The barriers were installed weeks ahead of schedule. Crews painted the new concrete barriers white and added reflectors to them. The DOT says it also added new signs and speed-monitoring radar to keep drivers alert.
