Downtown Brooklyn welcomes ‘City of Yes’ zoning changes

Zoning changes are officially in effect across the city after the “City of Yes” proposal passed City Council.
Although there is opposition, downtown Brooklyn residents are excited.
The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership president feels the neighborhood is now freed from limitations. The area was zoned as a shopping district, limiting amusement businesses like Golfzon Social Club.
"If you have an entrepreneurial idea that's unique and different, it can happen here in downtown Brooklyn," said Downtown Brooklyn Partnership President Regina Myer.
