Tenant advocacy groups confronted workers outside state Sen. Marty Golden's Bay Ridge office Friday following the Republican's vote against extending rent-control regulations.
The several dozen protesters say the senator voted against the interests of 30,000 renters living in his district.
Golden voted to extend cost protections only if tenants in rent-regulated apartments verified their income to the state and kept the apartments as their primary residences. Tenant advocates and most Democratic lawmakers oppose those changes to the law.
Lawmakers in Albany agreed on a temporary extension Thursday night that will expire again next Tuesday.
