Emergency drills were held Sunday to test how to shelter hundreds of thousands of Brooklyn residents in a coastal disaster.
The New York City Office of Emergency Management and the New York City Department of Homeless Services hosted HURREX. Officials say Brooklyn?s dense population and highly developed coast region make the borough susceptible to the furry of a hurricane.
Many Brooklyn residents said while they are aware of an evacuation plan, they're not sure what happens once they get to the site.Related InformationNew York City Office of Emergency Management
