Prosecutors said that in August 2023, Croswell was driving more than twice the speed limit and ran multiple red lights before crashing into another vehicle at the intersection of Court Street and Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.
Shanti Joyner, 21, died from her injuries. She left behind a 1-year-old daughter.
Three other people were seriously injured in the crash, including Croswell’s girlfriend, who was a passenger in his car.
Croswell had also been charged with leaving the scene without calling 911 after police said they found him around the corner with his injured girlfriend.
Jurors acquitted him on that count.
Members of Joyner’s family said the guilty verdict would not bring her back but gave them a measure of closure after years of court proceedings.
