E-scooter operator seriously hurt in crash with delivery truck in Medford

A woman suffered serious injuries while riding an electric scooter in Suffolk County Tuesday afternoon.
Suffolk Police Sixth Squad detectives responded to the collision around 1:20 p.m. on Lake Drive in Medford.
Roger Liburd, 47, of Hempstead, was driving a 2019 FedEx delivery truck southbound on Lake Drive, when he attempted to make a right turn, according to police.
While making the turn, the truck crashed into the e-scooter, being operated by Jennifer Keene, 49, of Medford.
Keene was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. Liburd was not injured.
Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
No charges have been filed at this time.
