High schoolers in East Tremont have a story to tell with lessons you can't find in a textbook.
Students in an afterschool film class at Eagle Academy completed their own video about poverty and violence in their neighborhood.
The film follows a fictional plot, but the message behind it is real. The young filmmakers say they hope their peers can connect to the story and learn about life choices they can make.
The opportunity to get involved in film came to the school from an international organization called PCI Media Impact, which trains and supplies teachers to carry out what it calls entertainment education.
