Roughly half a dozen tenants stood in front of a Riverdale office building on Wednesday, where the office of Chestnut Holdings, an apartment management company, is located.

The rally stemmed from the poor living conditions some of the tenants shared they have been dealing with.

The group yelled a variety of chants, such as " What do we want? Repairs! When do we want it? Now."

"We've been having problems with roaches and mice, and we got mold in the walls," shared one neighbor.

"There's water damage in a lot of the apartments. There's holes, there's light fixtures that blow out because of the water damage," said another neighbor.

Some of the tenants claimed their complaints to management go ignored, unless 311 gets involved. They said even then, the repairs are just Band-Aids.

The tenants who attended the rally were told they were not allowed inside the Chestnut Holdings office, even though a note on the door stated that tenants’ office hours fell between the time the rally took place.

News 12 went into the Chestnut Holdings office to request a statement about the neighbor's concerns, but did not get a response yet.
