Emergency workers and volunteers are on hand to help evacuated Bronx families weather the storm.
Lehman College is one of 14 centers in The Bronx that are providing shelter, food, water and medical aid through Hurricane Sandy. A trauma center has also been set up at the college.
Officials say they expect more people to flood the centers as the weather gets worse.
