An old warehouse in Carroll Gardens is now a well-stocked hub to help FDNY EMS workers better serve Brooklyn residents.Mayor Michael Bloomberg (R-NYC) and the FDNY announced the opening of Station 32, which will serve Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill and Brooklyn Heights. Emergency service workers will use the center to rapidly equip their ambulances with life-saving supplies. Officials say the facility was needed to help anchor an expanding area.
The city says it created the hub without having to downsize any fire stations. The facility, which took 15 months and almost $5 million to construct, is the fifth new hub to open in the past five years.
