Exclusive surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows a man running straight through the glass door of a Crown Heights deli in broad daylight Sunday.
The manager of Vitamo Mini Market says the door was unlocked when the man charged into it, shattering the glass.
“He went through it, started bleeding everywhere, left and went across the street. That’s all that happened, out of nowhere,” said Mo, the store manager.
Customers say the incident could have ended much worse.
“It could have been very bad. Imagine if he would’ve sliced his neck or if someone else was there and the glass cut them up,” said Andrea, a regular customer.
The manager says the man didn’t steal anything but instead seemed to be testing his strength.
He was taken away by ambulance, and his condition is unknown.
The store did not file a police report. The manager says he believes the man needs help and hopes he is doing well.
The glass door has since been replaced, costing the store about $900.
