News 12 obtained exclusive video of tense moments when NYPD
officers drew their guns on two teens accused of stealing a car in the Bronx.
The incident began in front of a deli on Eastchester Road.
The workers inside say the victim was making a purchase while police say his
car was left running outside.
Police say the victim was able stop the teens from stealing
his car, but they got in another car and took off.
In the video, there are at least two officers pointing what
appears to be their guns at the opened driver's side door of the suspects'
getaway car on East Gun Hill Road. The other teen is sitting in the passenger's
seat also with his hands raised.
Police did not identify the suspects since they are minors.
Police told News 12 that they don't have any information that the teens were
armed.
The passerby who recorded the video says he was trying to
make sure “they were arrested in a proper manner.”
Police charged the 16- and 17-year-old suspects with grand
larceny.
