Just about 15 minutes before Cee & Cee Department Store in Soundview opened its doors, an SUV came crashing through the storefront.

Video obtained exclusively by News 12 shows an employee flying across the store, items crashing down and the driver trapped inside.

The NYPD says the 65-year-old female driver was trying to park her car when she accidentally accelerated through the storefront. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The 57-year-old employee was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries to his neck. They are both expected to survive.

It all happened just before 9 a.m. Tuesday. Fire officials have deemed the building "structurally sound."

Witness Lina S. says the car went, “flying into the store.”

“I was in shock. I've never seen anything like this before,” Linda says.

“Something like that happening is scary. Anybody could get hurt,” said Cathy Acevedo, another witness. “She went straight in.”

News 12 was also on scene back in 2012 when a car crashed into the same storefront.
