FDNY crews were called to respond to multiple exploding manhole covers in Gravesend Monday just after 12 p.m.

FDNY told News 12 that multiple customers lost power in the area, as Con Ed crews worked to restore service throughout Monday afternoon.

Witnesses describe seeing the manholes releasing smoke, before the cover was blown off, with a brief fiery explosion.

No injuries were reported.
