Parishioners attended service Sunday at a historic Park Slope church, showing a recent fire damaged the building, but not their faith.
Joyous music filled the air at Presbyterian Memorial Church, despite the sight of ashes and burnt pews. The church also has water damage. The pastor says it was important for members to gather because people, not buildings make up a church. Parishioners say they have plenty to be thankful for as they prepare to celebrate the church?s 139th anniversary in November.
Presbyterian Memorial is taking donations to help fix the building.
