Ladder Company 170 received an honorary plaque Monday, making one year since the death of FDNY Firefighter Timothy Klein.

Klein died on April 24, 2022, after he and his comrades responded to a fire in East New York.

"It's difficult to overstate just how important Timmy was to our firehouse. He was an excellent firefighter,” said Firefighter Andrew Spadaro.

Klein was critically injured after the ceiling collapsed. He was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

"Our family continues to struggle each day with this loss and the reality of our new life without him with us,” added Klein’s mother Diane Klein.

The plaque, along with Klein’s coat and firefighter's hat, are enshrined within the fire house.
