A family held a vigil for a man who was fatally shot in Brooklyn over the weekend.
Donovan Davy, 45, was shot and killed late Saturday night when he was on his way to visit his mother.
The shooting happened three blocks away from his mother's home on Church Avenue.
Police say Davy was found with gunshot wounds to his neck and right leg. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he was pronounced dead.
Davy's family says he was born in Jamaica but grew up in Brooklyn. They say he spoke several languages and was kindhearted.
Davy worked as a TSA officer at John F. Kennedy International Airport since 2004.
The TSA federal security director John Bambury says Davy was a valued employee taken from them too soon and that he will be missed by his coworkers and the whole TSA family.
Davy’s mother also says he was a caring person and took care of her when she was sick.
The family is still grieving over their loss and making funeral arrangements.
Police say the person responsible for Davy's death has not yet been arrested.
