Fans turned out Tuesday to watch the Brooklyn Cyclones take on their arch rivals, the Staten Island Yankees, at KeySpan Park for the team?s seventh home opener.
The minor league team, which brought America's favorite pastime back to the borough in 2001, will once again be managed by Edgar Alfonzo. Alfonzo, who guided the Cyclones to a league championship in 2001, is hoping for a repeat performance.The Mets own the Cyclones.
The young and old alike turned out to root for their teams, but the Cyclones have the home advantage at the Coney Island ballpark. Fans say while they're hoping for a win in Tuesday night's game, it's really about having good, clean family fun.
