3ds agoA father and son died decades apart in two different countries - but in similar circumstances.
The NYPD says Felix Mendez was crossing Lafayette Avenue last Thursday at around 3 a.m. when he was fatally struck by a car.
Surveillance video obtained by News 12 shows a white SUV speeding through a red light on Bedford Avenue, and then striking Mendez.
Mendez's father died in a similar manner when he was a young child back in Mexico.
The DOT says since 2020, there have been four reported deaths along Bedford Avenue.
Police say they are still looking for the suspect involved in the hit-and-run.
