A fire in an apartment building in the Bronx displaced multiple families Thursday.
The FDNY says the call came in just after 7:30 a.m. bringing 60 firefighters to Palisade Place. The fire chief on scene said that the dead-end road made it challenging to get to the apartment. The fire chief reported a lot of flames.
Outer damage can be seen to the two-floor apartment building with the front windows completely smashed out, officials say.
Two people were transported to the hospital. Their conditions are unclear.
It took firefighters just over an hour to get the flames under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
A stability inspection has been placed by the FDNY, according to the Department of Buildings. There is no word yet on the result of that inspection.
