Hundreds of students at Stephen Decatur Middle School received gifts on Friday afternoon in honor of a former student.
The middle school’s gym was turned into a winter wonderland full of toys. The event was to honor a former student who attended the school in 1949.
His son, Salvatore Stile, was inspired to help coordinate this toy giveaway in his father’s memory, after his father died of COVID-19.
Stile did the first toy drive in 2021 and enlisted the help of the NYPD. This year, the FDNY joined Stile to help deliver these toys to the kids.
The Stile family donated over $10,000 in gifts for today’s event.
