People from all over New York City came out for the first day of the annual Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Wednesday in Williamsburg.
The festival had food, rides and games but tradition was most important for some families.
"So, my great grandparents started this feast," says Salvatore Mirando, of Staten Island. "My grandpa took my dad to it. My dad took me to it and hopefully I'll bring my kids to it."
The feast continues for the next 11 days.
