A fight is brewing as the schools chancellor announces some proposed changes in Bronx and city schools.
Some say Chancellor Joel Klein?s proposed changes pit principals against those who work for them. According to a Daily News report, Klein wrote a letter to principals promising salary increases and giving them more power to get rid of assistant principals they deem unfit. The Council of School Supervisors and Administrators union accuses Klein of trying to break it up by dividing the two groups. The union is reportedly considering filing a formal complaint against Klein.
Meanwhile, negotiators for the city and principals are scheduled to meet next week about a new contract.
