A fire at a Williamsburg apartment building caused damage to the top floor and basement Tuesday evening.
The fire sparked at around 7 p.m. at an apartment on Flushing Avenue. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire on the top floor before it could spread, but also noticed flames in the apartment's basement.
Officials say nobody was home during the fire and no one was injured. A firefighter was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The FDNY is investigating the cause of the fire.
