Police in Florida arrested a teen accused of fatally shooting a Brooklyn Rabbi Wednesday.
Deandre Edwin Charles, 15, is facing a charge of first-degree murder in the August 2014 slaying of Yosef Raksin near Miami.
Raksin was a 60-year-old Crown Heights man who was on his way to Sabbath services at the time of the slaying, police say.
Police sources say Charles had been in the middle of a string of robberies when he encountered Raksin.
Police accuse Charles of shooting the rabbi after a robbery attempt failed when Raksin wasn't carrying any money. Observing Jews are forbidden from carrying money on the Sabbath.
Charles' stepfather, Willis Archibald, told reporters that his son had been interviewed by police last year. Archibald says he thought everything was fine afterward.
