From great shopping to a historic institution of higher learning, residents say Fordham has it all.
"You can go anywhere, you find whatever you're looking for," Luz Lozano said of her Bronx neighborhood.A large flea market is located across the street from the area's Metro-North station and retailers maintain Fordham Road boasts some of the best shopping in New York City.
The neighborhood is also home to Fordham University, which was frequented by poet Edgar Allan Poe. The Bronx Library Center is located a few blocks away. The center reopened in January 2006 after a major renovation to better serve patrons.
The Bronx Zoo draws many people to the borough annually, providing an opportunity to experience nature in the city.
According to Lozano, Metro-North, the D train, the 4 train and buses make it easy to get to destinations.
