Former Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy students gathered for the eighth annual Legends of Riverdale Stickball Classic.
"We used to play over at Seton Park across the way, playing Little League together at the South Riverdale Baseball league,” said player Alden Cass. “We were all of the all-stars back then. Now, almost 35 years later, we get together every year for the last eight years…to relive all of the magic."
The players say the tradition keeps their brotherhood alive and brings them back to the 80s.
"We have the names of stores and restaurants that were famous in the 80s in Riverdale that no longer exist as our actual sponsors as an annual homage to them,” said Cass.
No matter how much time has passed, the group says they feel like they never left when they get together to play.
"When we started this eight years ago, a lot of us hadn't seen each other in a number of years. So being able to come back together every year, it feels like we see each other a lot more often. It makes our childhood feel closer to us,” said Gregg Clayman.
Organizers tell News 12 that they hope their children will carry on the memorable tradition.
