Crews are busy preparing for this year's Macy's Fourth of July fireworks show, and organizers say it will be bigger than ever.
"On the Brooklyn Bridge alone, we have over 30,000 different effects that are going to happen swooshing between the two towers," said Gary Souza, the show's designer.
Four barges on the East River will each carry about 14,000 fireworks shells.
Part of the show will also launch directly from the Brooklyn Bridge, adding new special effects designed to wow the crowd.
"We have a 1,600-foot waterfall that's going to cascade from the bottom of the bridge down to the water's edge," added Will Coss, executive producer of the Macy's fireworks.
The 25-minute show is set to a soundtrack produced by Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson and James Poyser. The show kicks off at 8 p.m. and will feature music by artists like the Jonas Brothers and Lenny Kravitz.
