Two Brooklyn businesses are brewing an ale that combines beer with coffee.
The Coney Island Brewing Company is offering a new ale in a collaboration with the Cafe Grumpy coffee shop.
Coffee buyer Cheryl Kingan says the idea came about after the Coney Island Brewing Company approached them wanting to combine the flavors of coffee and beer.
The result is called Freaktoberfest--a pumpkin spice espresso ale just in time for fall. The ale is sweet and darker than a pure pale ale.
Cafe Grumpy is also known for playing a major role in the popular HBO show "Girls."
