A salsa stand first featured at Smorgasburg food market has opened a shop in Downtown Brooklyn.

Jalapa Jar's pop-up shop is located on Schermerhorn Street, and they serve Austin-style breakfast tacos and bowls with meat, vegetables, and of course salsa.

The eatery began selling salsa at Smorgasburg a few years ago, but felt business was slow until they began pairing the salsa with tacos.

The co-founder of Jalapa Jar says all of a sudden they had long lines of customers and knew they were onto something.

Among their specialties are a bacon, egg and cheese, along with their veggie tacos.

Owners say the Jalapa Jar pop-up will only be in Downtown Brooklyn until the end of the year.

The business will be moving to the Brooklyn Navy Yard to expand both their taco and salsa production.
