The G train is back in service between Brooklyn and Queens after five weeks of repairs.
The Greenpoint tunnel, which carries the G line, had been inundated by 15 feet of water during Superstorm Sandy in 2012.
While commuters are relieved that G trains have been restored, many are also upset that there will no longer be a free transfer offered to the J and M lines.
An MTA spokesperson tells News 12 that they only establish out-of-system transfers when a subway line has been disrupted. They say now that the line is back up and running, everything will go back to normal.
The Rider's Alliance has started a petition to get the MTA to make the free transfer permanent.
