What to know

A Flood Watch is in effect for the Bronx & the entire city through 2 a.m. Friday. Rainfall rates could reach up to 2 inches per hour.

Downpours expected for the evening commute.

Widespread rain with embedded thunderstorms will move through the tri-state area tonight. Flash flooding is the biggest threat for tonight. Thunderstorms are possible and some could have gusty winds, but the biggest severe threat is out of our area for tonight.

Watch for street and poor drainage flooding. Do NOT drive through flooded roads.

TONIGHT

The heaviest rain will move east after about 9-11 p.m. Showers will taper after that point. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s.

FRIDAY

Early clouds and even a few light showers are possible. The sky will stay mostly cloudy to partly sunny through the day. High temperatures will reach the upper-70s to about 80 degrees.

More rain is likely heading into Saturday morning.

THE WEEKEND

Saturday right now looks like a washout. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are also possible Sunday. Rainfall totals could reach up to 1".

A dry and sunny stretch is looking more likely now for most of next week.
