Harry Potter fans can geek out at a new pop-up wizarding-themed axe throwing experience in Gowanus.
Kick Axe Throwing is a family-friendly venue that offers, drinks, foods, axe throwing and more. For now, the venue has become a haven for witches, wizards and mortals alike.
For $34 a person, anyone 8 years or older can book a 75-minute session that includes a quick safety lesson and wizarding props.
If axe throwing is not your thing, you can dive into the art of wand decorating. Kick Axe has all the supplies needed to paint a wand and make a clay handle.
"I've seen a few people try mimic "he shall not be named wand." Those ones come out pretty good," says Kick Axe Throwing supervisor Lawrence Chavis.
The business is outfitted with magical décor, including themed banners and floating candles. There are also some magical drinks to try - from Butterscotch Beer, which is non-alcoholic, to Unicorn Blood Sangria. Kick Axe has a full menu of tasty bites to ward off hunger spells.
You can hang out in the lounge, where there are board games and a giant Connect Four.
You do not need a reservation to enter the venue, but reservations are encouraged if you plan on axe throwing.
Kick Axe was founded in 2017 as the first axe-throwing bar in the world.
