The Greenburgh Town Board met Tuesday evening to discuss the fate of sidewalk cafes on East Hartsdale Avenue.
Restaurant owners who've been struggling to stay afloat since the pandemic say making outdoor seating a permanent fixture would help their businesses survive.
“It helps us, the last two years, so much. That's the reason we are still in business. We survived the pandemic and that's the reason,” says Alor Krasnqi, owner of Granita Cucina & Bar.
Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner says, “I'm very nervous that we could lose some of the restaurants if we don't make it easy for them to survive.”
Town officials plan to meet with police and restaurant owners within the next week to discuss traffic and safety concerns connected the outdoor dining structures on the street.
