Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a group of people responsible for a violent carjacking on Jan. 16 in Sheepshead Bay.

Police say the 27-year-old victim was approached by five people as he was sitting in his car on Coney Island and Guider avenues.

They engaged in a verbal argument and yanked the man from the vehicle. They began to punch and kick him, leaving him on the ground before speeding off in his car.

Authorities say the man sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.

Anyone with additional information is urged to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
