Wednesday night was prom night at Crotona International High School, and a group of lucky students were treated to a full makeover before the big event.
Bridal Reflections donated many dresses that graced the dance floor, and makeup artists transformed these high schoolers into showstoppers at the headquarters of
Oyate, a nonprofit group in the Bronx fighting against poverty.
It’s all part of a prom makeover program that NYPD Officer Victor Matos started seven years ago.
“It's not just about doing makeup, there's also getting a police escort to their prom, so they're going in style you know it's like from top to bottom,” said Matos.
Matos says he wants to keep growing this prom event and eventually bring it to students across all five boroughs.
