A celebration of Guyanese culture and pride was held in Flatbush Sunday.
The event kicked off on Church and Albany avenues.
Guyanese flags waved as residents came out to celebrate the nation's 51st anniversary of independence.
Organizers say the goal of the event is to unify the Guyanese people who live in Brooklyn.
Some parade attendees tell News 12 that the event gives them an opportunity to show the world their pride in being Guyanese and residents of Brooklyn.
The parade was be followed by a unity concert.
