Habitat for Humanity of Coastal Fairfield County celebrated International Women's Day on Friday.
The organization dedicated its work on Friday to Rosalynn Carter's legacy, calling it "Women Build Day."
Once completed, the project will house four families in two separate duplexes.
Tamara Francis is a future Habitat homeowner and volunteered her time today.
"One of the best days, and ways to give back, I’d say we need so many more women to come out and help us volunteer,” Francis said. “There is so much to do, so much to continue building if you are looking for ways to give back, Habitat is it and especially with Women's Build on this day today."
The volunteer group was mostly women from Hubbell Incorporated based in Shelton.
