Six pharmacists were awarded service certificates outside City Hall on Wednesday for their lifesaving work during this phase of the pandemic.  

The pharmacists represent the six pharmacies that partnered with New York City Health + Hospitals in a pilot program that brought anti-viral medicine directly to those who test positive for COVID-19.  

The mobile Test to Treat units park in front of these community pharmacies, test patients on-site, and if positive they can fill a prescription for Paxlovid directly at the pharmacy.  

So far, the program says the units have tested 36,000 New Yorkers, with 1,200 being prescribed Paxlovid.  

“We do it to help the community,” says Grace Brutis, who runs a pharmacy in the Bronx that works with the Test to Treat mobile sites.  

There are over 30 Test to Treat mobile sites around the city, and no ID, insurance or payment is required.
