The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for all five boroughs of New York City, including Brooklyn.
Friday's temperatures will be around 93 to 95 degrees, but will feel like 100 degrees, according to News 12 meteorologists.
It will be sunny today with a limited chance for rain, but it will be hazy, hot and humid.
Residents say the temperature will not stop them from enjoying quality time with their families, going for a swim and taking full advantage of the heat. They say they are finding ways to stay cool while soaking in the sun.
The heat is expected to break later in the evening becoming cooler by Sunday.
There is also a potential for a multi-state national heat wave setting up for the beginning to middle of next week.
