Aside from inconveniencing Brooklyn residents, this week's extreme heat has also cost several people their lives. A man was found Wednesday beneath a bridge in Brooklyn. Police say the death may have been a combination of the heat and alcohol consumption. A 69-year-old Brooklyn woman who was found unconscious in her home Thursday also apparently died of heat-related causes, police said. City officials say residents looking for a place to beat the heat can still head to cooling centers located throughout the borough.
