A Hudson County man launched an online platform that allows people to plan their funeral.
"I Made the Arrangements" gives people the opportunity to map out final wishes in writing and leave clarity instead of confusion to loved ones.
The creator, Paul Fried, wanted to create the platform after seeing how families struggled when no plan was in place.
He says that too often, loved ones are left scrambling to make decisions during a time of grief.
The service allows users to outline everything from burial or cremation preferences to memorial details, wills and personal messages. Plans can also be shared with family members or assigned to a trusted contact who can access them when needed.
According to Fried, about 76% of Americans do not have a will. He hopes his platform will encourage more people to have open conversations about end-of-life planning.
“It’s not easy to talk about, but the more you do, the easier it gets,” Fried said.
