Hundreds gathered for a peace rally in memory of a slain Bronx teen Monday evening, where a frustrated community demanded answers about why Ramarley Graham was shot to death in his own home at the hands of police officers.
The rally began at Graham's home, and the crowd then marched to the 47th Precinct. Neighbors say they're outraged Graham was shot to death at home by police officers who didn't announce who they were or why they were there.
"The cop that did this should be charged with murder," said Dee McCoy, who lives nearby.
Graham, 18, was killed after police officers stormed his home during an alleged narcotics bust. The NYPD says the officer responsible thought Graham had a gun. No firearms were found after police searched the apartment, and only a small bag of marijuana was discovered in the bathroom. The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on restrictive duty.
At the rally, Graham's family thanked the community for lending their support and paying their respects.
