? Relief is on the way for some Williamsburg and Greenpoint businesses that are being forced out due to residential zoning.
City Council members and the mayor?s office have come to an agreement on how to distribute money from a $4 million fund. The fund was set up to help industrial businesses stay afloat after the area was re-zoned for residential use last May. More than $1 million will go toward relocation costs for businesses. The rest of the fund will go to businesses that want to stay in Brooklyn.
Some owners say the decision is too late for them since they have already received eviction notices.
