Active insect nests outside a Crown Heights apartment building are pestering residents.
Resident Mary Grant says every time she and her neighbors leave their apartment building on Dean Street, they have to deal with the insects buzzing around them. Grant says she worries the hives will get knocked down and that the insects could possibly sting someone.
Grant told News 12 that she noticed the hives a week ago, and they appear to be a nest for hornets, wasps or yellow jackets. She says she called 311 for help, but was told that if someone feels threatened that it's their responsibility remove the hives themselves and that the city would not take it down.
News 12 reached out to city officials about the matter, but has not yet received a response.
