A Shirley teenager was seriously hurt in a multivehicle crash on the Long Island Expressway Tuesday.

Investigators say the driver of an SUV was trying to merge onto the exit ramp in Holtsville when he hit Jacqueline Gonzalez's car at 4:37 p.m.

They say the 18-year-old hit a Nissan and that vehicle slammed into a Dodge Ram.

Gonzalez was rushed to Stony Brook for treatment.

The three other drivers were not hurt.
