Remains found in Pennsylvania in 1992 have been identified as a Bronx woman, officials said.
A farmer working in a field in Windsor Township along Christman Road discovered a human skull on June 3, 1992. Authorities were called and more remains were found. An examination determined that the remains belonged to a woman between 25 and 40 years old. She became known as “Christman Jane Doe.”
In 2024, the Berks County Coroner’s Office partnered with Parabon NanolABS Inc. to initiate an investigation using advanced DNA technology to trace potential family connections.
On April 14, 2026, Christman Jane Doe was positively identified as Nuria C. Rodriguez of the Bronx. She was 25 years old when she disappeared after she didn’t show up for her child’s birthday party.
