Brownsville kids were at Betsy Head Park Monday calling for an end to gun violence in their neighborhood.
It was part of the Justice for Our Youth, or “JOY” event. Kids ages 5 to 11 years old filled the basketball courts to sing, dance and read poetry all with the message of spreading love and ending violence.
The event is part of the Children's Defense Fund National Freedom Schools Curriculum, a seven-week summer program run by the nonprofit Partnership with Children.
