Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim helped kick off the Klein Cup Regatta weekend at Steelpointe Harbor Friday.

Saturday's event has been canceled due to the rain, but all activities will be held on Sunday as scheduled.

The regatta highlights match races between two historic 12-meter yachts that also competed in the America's Cup.

The event will benefit programs at the Klein Memorial Auditorium.

"Encouraging people to participate, come out, have fun this weekend, hopefully weather permitting, and at the same time know that you're supporting the Klein Memorial, which does great things for young people and the City of Bridgeport," said Ganim.

The regatta also includes many family activities, tasting stations with New England Brewing and much more.
