The lawyer for Shannan Gilbert's family is suing Suffolk County to release the 911 recordings from the night she vanished in Gilgo Beach.
Suffolk District Attorney Tim Sini recently announced he is no longer in charge of decision-making in Gilbert's case.
The family's attorney, John Ray, is now demanding to know who is in charge.
"What the police said occurred was willfully, deliberately false, over and over and over again and dramatically so," Ray says. "Those tapes need to be out to the public."
Gilbert's 2010 disappearance led to the discovery of the remains of 10 people along Ocean Parkway.
